ICT Minister, Burundi Ambassador Discuss Cooperation in ICT


The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has received the ambassador of Burundi to Egypt Cheik Malachie Rachid Niragira to discuss enhancing cooperation in the ICT field.

During the meeting, they discussed proposed areas of cooperation, most notably developing the digital skills of Burundian youth. Talaat highlighted that Egypt and Burundi have close and distinguished relations at the political and economic levels, as Egypt is keen on deepening ties with brotherly African countries. He also said that he looked forward to opening areas of cooperation between the two countries in the ICT field.

For his part, Niragira commended the progress achieved in the Egyptian ICT sector, stressing his interest in cooperating with Egypt in training and upskilling young Burundians in various ICT fields.

At the end of the meeting, the ICT Minister invited his Burundian counterpart, through the Burundian ambassador, to visit Egypt to explore the Egyptian ICT sector closely. Niragira invited Talaat to visit Burundi to hold extensive discussions on enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the ICT field.
