ICT Minister Visits Lithuania to Discuss Cooperation in DX, Capacity Building, AI, Cybersecurity


The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat headed, today, to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, heading a high-level delegation, on a two-day working visit.
 
During the visit, the ICT Minister will hold meetings with a number of ministers and officials from the Government of Lithuania and major Lithuanian institutions and companies. The visit aims to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two countries in ICT, especially in fields related to digital transformation, digital capacity building, technological innovation, cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
 
The visit comes in response to an invitation from the Minister of the Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania Aušrinė Armonaitė to the ICT Minister to visit Lithuania. The invitation was presented by the Ambassador of Lithuania to Egypt Artūras Gailiūnas. It aims to closely explore the technological advancement in Lithuania and hold talks to enhance cooperation in areas of common interest.
 
The agenda of the visit includes holding meetings with a number of ministers and officials from the Government of Lithuania to discuss mechanisms of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in ICT, in light of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) keenness to benefit from global experiences in implementing "Digital Egypt" strategy.
 
The ICT Minister is to hold a meeting with a number of officials from a Lithuanian university to discuss cooperation in digital capacity building. This is in addition to holding meetings with a number of officials from major Lithuanian institutions and companies working in ICT-related fields to benefit from their experiences and attract new investments to the Egyptian market.
