ICT Minister Witnesses Signing of MoU to Train Youth in Electronics, IT Fields


The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat witnessed, today, the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Information Technology Institute (ITI) and Brightskies Inc. to cooperate on training youth in electronics manufacturing and IT fields, namely: embedded systems, embedded systems security, and e-mobility.

The MoU scope also includes increasing the number of beneficiaries of intensive programs as well as young recruits. This is in addition to enriching the digital content on ITI Mahara-Tech e-learning platform.
ITI Chairwoman Heba Saleh and Chief Operations Officer at Brightskies Hicham Arafa signed the MoU, in the presence of various officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Brightskies.

The ICT Minister emphasized that this partnership comes within the framework of implementing MCIT strategy. The strategy aims at building digital capabilities, developing skills, increasing the added value, and expanding the number of employees specialized in electronics design and manufacturing. The partnership comes as part of consolidated efforts to increase Digital Egypt exports and make Egypt a leading country in embedded systems in the automotive industry.

The ICT Minister pointed to the significance of this cooperation to cover the requirements of the labor market as well as the needs of specialized and highly specialized youth that the labor market needs inside or outside Egypt in electronics manufacturing. Specialized training programs are provided to train and qualify young people to help them find distinguished job opportunities, in line with the successive global development in various fields of technology.

Arafa clarified that the cooperation comes as a continuation of previous cooperation with ITI. Through the cooperation, he stated, Brightskies is aimed at increasing the number of human calibers to fulfill the needs of the company and the sector. The cooperation includes recent programs launched for the first time for Egyptian youth, he added. These programs are implemented in Cairo, various ITI centers, and CREATIVA Innovation Hubs in different Egyptian governorates as well as in the new Institute’s premises at the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital.

According to the MoU, ITI and Brightskies cooperate in increasing the number of trainees, reviewing the design and preparation of the training program, and arranging for the training process for embedded systems programs, embedded systems security, and e-mobility. Brightskies provides trainers and experts during the training period as well as projects.
