The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has met with the Director General of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Madan Mohan Tripathi, in New Delhi, India. The meeting addressed enhancing cooperation between MCIT and NIELIT in building capacity in ICT, electronics design, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) by implementing training programs in cooperation with the Information Technology Institute (ITI) and WE Schools for Applied Technology. This is in addition to training participants of Digital Egypt Builders Initiative (DEBI).

NIELIT is under the administrative control of the Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. It is engaged both in formal and non-formal education, provides on-site and online technology training, and grants diplomas and post-graduate degrees in ICT disciplines such as AI, cybersecurity, blockchain, and electronics design.

In a similar vein, the ICT Minister met with the Managing Director at smartphone manufacturer Micromax Informatics Ltd Vikas Jain, and Director of Play Design Labs, a maker of mobile accessories and wearables, Rohan Agarwal. The Egyptian start-up and entrepreneurship ecosystem is a regional leader in light of its continuing growth, noted the ICT Minister.

The collaboration between MCIT and ITT was addressed during the meeting. Collaboration included carrying out the ITT Egypt capacity-building program at CREATIVA Innovation Hub in Sultan Hussein Kamel Palace, last year.
