The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has headed to Bengaluru on a two-day visit to participate in the G20 Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting (DEMM), hosted in India.
The ICT Minister’s participation comes within the framework of the invitation to Egypt to participate as a guest country during India’s G20 Presidency.
Talaat is due to participate in the DEMM sessions, which aim to put forward visions and exchange experiences in digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital skills.
On the sidelines of DEMM, Talaat will also hold various talks with several ministers and officials from ICT companies to enhance cooperation and promote investment in the Egyptian ICT sector.
It is worth noting that the Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) aims to provide a guiding vision for policymakers to achieve digital transformation and boost economic growth.
The G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation. It plays an important role in shaping and strengthening global architecture and governance on all major international economic issues. India holds the Presidency of the G20 from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2023.
