Prepare Excelling Students in MCIT’s IT Skills Program to Obtain the ICDL


H.E. Dr. Ahmed Nazif, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, witnessed today the signing of 14 cooperation agreements between the Ministry and the 12 Egyptian universities, Mubarak City for Scientific Research, and the Electronics Research Center in the field of human resources development on basic IT skills and the use of the Internet. The agreement aims at the training of 16000 students by June 2001. 19000 students received the same training during the past six months in locations all over Egypt. The target number of trainees is 30000 annually. The Basic IT Skills Program is part of the human resources development project which is one of the major goals of the National CIT Plan. The program aims at exposing students to basic IT skills and Internet usage to allow them to have a better chance in the jobs opportunities market.
