22 November 2023

A phone-in with the ICT Minister Amr Talaat on Sada El-Balad, where he referred to the Prime Minister’s visit to international IT Outsourcing companies operating in Egypt, with teams that include best-in-class Egyptian professionals. Talaat stated that MCIT has been following a plan since 2019 to boost the IT offshoring industry, which helped build a talent pool fit for global markets. The plan resulted in Egypt winning the Speedtest Award for the fastest fixed country in Africa, and in digital services exports hitting $3.2 billion in 2023 up from $1.8 billion in 2020. The country has set a digital services export target of $9 billion in 2026—an annual increase of 30-40%, noted the ICT Minister.
